Turning Leaves hand dyed fibre for spinning/felting
This listing is for a 100g braid of hand dyed fibre. The base is a custom blend I had made and comprises 87.5% Blue Faced Leicester and 12.5% Rose fibre. It is not superwash treated. Part of the Bluefaced Leicester is oatmeal coloured as opposed to the more traditional white fibre. This gives the dyed fibre an extra depth and is really lovely.
Turning Leaves was designed to celebrate the Virtual Knit-Tea Retreat in Autumn 2020. It is a combination of autumnal shades starting with a mustard yellow and overlaid with dark green, rusty brown and a pop of red (the trees whose leaves turn yellow then red are my absolute favourites!). Due to the manner of dyeing I am unable to guarantee complete consistency of colour across braids. However, if you buy more than one I will pick out a set that look as similar as possible.
This fibre is hand dyed with professional grade acid dyes and then rinsed after the dyeing process. However, please hand wash to preserve the colour and please be aware that there may be a small amount of dye bleeding out in the first wash (although this is unusual because I am very thorough with my rinsing). Drying in direct sunlight can also fade the colour over time, so where possible, please avoid.
Each braid is approximately 100g.
Please bear in mind that I dye in small batches through kettle dyeing and hand painting. This leads to small variations even between the same dye lot so if you have a large project in mind, please contact me so that I can make sure you get skeins as closely matching as possible or potentially I can custom dye a specific quantity up for you. Also please bear in mind that whilst every effort is made to ensure the photograph accurately reflects the yarn colour monitors do vary.
If you choose standard shipping, your package will be sent by standard first class (UK) or standard airmail (overseas) and will only be insured up to a total of £20 (including postage). This is the amount that I will be able to refund you for your whole package if it gets lost in the mail. If your purchase comes to more than £20 I strongly recommend that you choose the option at the checkout to increase the postal insurance.
